6/12/2008 - I haven't written much lately, but it has been a busy year for me. I finally sold my house in Roswell earlier this year in January, as well as my car - and it's a wonderful feeling to have that burden removed from my shoulders. My parents were incredibly instrumental in making it all happen, including a huge surprise for me when I arrived the week prior to closing to move all of the contents of the house - guess what - they had already moved everything for me! Just another example of an unexpected, amazing act of kindness and love from my parents... 1/31/2007 - It's been almost 5 months since I moved back to Bangkok, and I'm so much happier these days. Still working just as hard (if not harder!) and travelling just as much, but it's great to be able to come back home to Bangkok. The last month has been particularly hectic because we had to reschedule my company's annual sales kickoff due to the instability and concern over the bombings in Bangkok which took place on New Year's Eve. Instead of having a single, centralized kickoff as we usually do in Bangkok, I have instead had to travel to many local kickoffs including those in Sydney, Tokyo, and Seoul. A very unfortunate situation, but hopefully we can all gather together again next year in Bangkok without concern for the safety of our fellow employees. 12/16/2006 - My Mom and Dad, together with 2 of their traveling friends, are departing Thailand today headed back to the US. They've been here since December 6th, and spent several days in Bangkok along with a few in Phuket. It was a truly wonderful experience having them over to finally get the chance to spend a few days in my part of the world. But ofcourse, they kept me very busy with visits to all the fun and exciting spots in Bangkok including the Grand Palace, Wat Po (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), a river cruise along the Chao Phraya, Jatujak Weekend Market, Jim Thompson's House, and lots more shopping and good food! They also had a great time in Phuket even though I wasn't able to go with them because of work obligations. I hope to have plenty of pictures from their trip soon to post on my website, so stay tuned! 8/18/2006 - Well, some very good news! I will be moving back to Bangkok at the end of August! I'm really excited to heading back "home". I've already secured my new residence, and once I get everything moved in and setup, I'll post some pictures of the new place. For those of you who might be wondering - this does NOT mean a change in career - just a realization by the company that it doesn't really matter where I'm based because I travel so frequently anyway. So, it works out well for everyone! 12/1/2005 - Added a few pictures from a recent weekend in Bangkok with my friend Arun. We had a very nice ride on the Chao Phraya river! Also, several pictures taken at the Great Wall of China during Sybase's ASE15 launch event. Enjoy! 7/21/2005 - Well, I hadn't added any pictures in a few months, so I just gathered up what I had from various trips & events and put them into one section for you to see. Sorry they're not more organized, but it's better than nothing I suppose! Hope you enjoy them...click here to have a look! 3/22/2005 - Just added a few pics from our recent sales bootcamp in Bangkok, Thailand. It was a great opportunity to spend some time back "home"! Click here to see. 1/10/2005 - I've added a new section of pictures, taken of my new condo in Hong Kong. Many of you had asked, so I thought it was time to stop procrastinating! (Not to mention I wanted to put my new Digital Camera to use! Click here to check it out... 12/27/2004 - (The Tragedy in Asia) - First of all, for all of you who contacted me and were concerned about me possibly being in Thailand during the recent tragic Tsunami which has claimed the lives of so many, thank you for your messages, emails, and voice mails. I was indeed in Bangkok during the Christmas weekend, but fortunately not anywhere near the southern coast where there was so much devastation and loss of life. It was truly an unbelievable sight to watch the story unfold on the news Sunday and Monday together with many of my Thai and expatriate friends in Bangkok. Second of all, I would like to express my sincerest wishes and prayers to the families and friends of all those who knew someone involved in the tragedy. Having lived in Thailand for 5 years myself, I know the importance of the family and social unit to the Thai people; but I also know they are an incredibly resilient and strong-willed culture who will find a way to rebound from this disaster. Thoughts and prayers to all... 11/17/2004 - Well, after almost 5 years of living in Bangkok, I have now officially relocated to Hong Kong as of November 1st, 2004. The decision was no doubt a difficult one to make, but sometimes we need to do what's right for our career even if it means a fairly dramatic change in our lives. Though I've been in Hong Kong for only a short time now, I certainly miss all of my friends from back in the "Land of Smiles" but hopefully I'll be able to take this opportunity to make new acquaintances. (Ofcourse, I'm sure I'll be making regular trips back "home" to see everyone as well!)So, with that said, I hope to have some new and exciting material to publish about life in Hong Kong soon, so stay tuned! 11/17/2004 - I've just completed updating the Who am I section with a little more about my past life. Hope you enjoy! |
